Andrew,

Another resource if you’re wanting to quickly set up rails on mac os x is to use locomotive . It doesn’t do mysql or subversion but I already had both of these on my box because I currently do php development on my laptop.

Thought that link might be useful for others not looking to get into rails full time.

@andrew: i used that guide the other day – i’d only owned my mac a few days so i’m a total newbie – and it all worked perfectly without a hitch. i was absolutely delighted. highly recommended!
