I’ve started to lug some of my CDs to work so I can listen to my music. (Yes, that’s right, I don’t have an iPod yet). I found that after inserting a CD, it took a surprisingly long time for the CD player to spin up, and for the computer to recognize the CD (ok, it was only maybe 5 seconds, but even on my XP machine at home it only takes a second or two).

However, one nice thing, is in the Finder, it shows up with the album name (“So”), with an eject symbol just to the right of the album name.

On my XP box, all Windows Explorer can say about it is “Audio CD (D:)”.

Once again it’s the little things that Apple seems to get right, and Microsoft always seems to miss.

Anybody know what happens on a Vista machine?
