Another question, not really Rails but whatever…

I recently got a fancy new MacBook at home, then my old php host had server issues and moved my site to a new server – which was not configured correctly for my code. So I dropped them and got a linode server.

Now I want to remake my personal site as a showpiece of my skills. Of course I need source control, but I use Perforce at work and I’ve used it home too. Now I want to switch to something of more common usage. I had planned on svn but now git is fast becoming popular.

Since I don’t really know either I’m wondering which way to go here?

any opinions?

I would love to know more about Git, too. Hopefully someone will chime in?
